“A pivotal moment in my life was coming to GCH. It truly changed my life’s trajectory and allowed me to be surrounded by amazing people who provided the love and support I needed…”
I came to Gatewood Children’s Home after living with a very toxic and unhealthy foster family. Not knowing what to expect from a group home, my first day there was full of mistrust and apprehension.
Surprising to me, it only took a couple of days to acclimate to my new home, especially after meeting the staff and owners, Kiva and Tony. I remember being impressed with everyone’s caring and genuine personalities and their commitment to see me succeed in life despite the challenges that were thrown my way. To this day, I still have a very close relationship with Kiva and Tony.
With the support they provided during my time at GCH I was able to graduate from college and start my career as a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist. In addition to this, I am only a few months away from graduating with my Masters in Social Work.
A pivotal moment in my life was coming to GCH. It truly changed my life’s trajectory and allowed me to be surrounded by amazing people who provided the love and support I needed.
